COURSE NAME: Pistol Course 0.5: Fundamentals of Concealed Carry
DESCRIPTION: This course is geared toward the beginner or first-time pistol owner seeking to obtain a concealed carry weapons permit/license, and is designed to prepare you for the path of safe and responsible pistol handling while drawing from a holster. You will learn the proper procedures for safe handling and storage, both in and outside of the home, plus proper techniques and etiquette for shooting at a range and handling a pistol on the firing line. The entire course instruction will occur on the range. We will cover the basic fundamentals of pistol shooting, all the way up to drawing from a holster.
This course, or similar course offered by a reputable company, is a required pre-requisite for other pistol courses offered by our company.
CLASS SIZE & DURATION: The class size is 1-2 students. This class is 4 hours and will include one 15-minute break.
GEAR LIST:
- Pistol – must be cased (the box it came in is sufficient) – a case is required given the learning objectives of this course
- Holster specifically made for your pistol – Kydex (hard plastic only) – NO Blackhawk Serpa type holsters allowed to include any other manufacturer with an index finger retention button
- Single or double magazine holster (double is preferred)
- Proper belt specifically designed to support a fully loaded pistol in a holster such as a NextBelt
- Minimum of two (2) pistol magazines
- Water and snacks to sustain yourself for four hours
- Sunscreen (the entire class is held outdoors rain or shine)
- Layers for varied weather situations and/or extra clothing
- Closed-toed shoes are required (no sandals) and no low-cut shirts or tank-tops
- Ammunition (100 rounds) – factory manufactured full metal jacketed target ammunition ONLY
- The items below are required to shoot on the range:

- Ear Protection - electronic with sound amplification preferred so you can clearly hear all instruction given while on the range
- Eye protection rated for shooting sports
